Haiti Lumiere de Demain Inc. (HLD), founded in 1998, is a 501(c) 3, non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan educational organization operating to promote literacy and educational opportunities among children of Haiti. The organization focuses its effort on the public primary school system in rural and impoverished areas of Haiti.
Our Mission
HLD is a non-profit, non-governmental organization with the primary goal of promoting literacy in primary and secondary schools in Haiti. To enrich the infrastructure of this devastated country, HLD’s environmental arm purchases and plants trees to protect against mudslides.

from an anonymous donor who shares the organization’s goals of improving educational opportunities and literacy levels for children worldwide. The donor has agreed to match, dollar for dollar, all proceeds raised in the next three months, up to $20,000.
